MF if in second rank and being the first shooting rank shoot at full effect. If second shooting rank, in second rank, half effect. Third rank cannot shoot in shooting phase but can in impact phase if Bow.

If both 1st and 2nd ranks are archers at impact the second rank shoots at full effect as the front rank are not shooting.

IIRC LF in mixed BG cannot shoot from a rear rank in shooting phase.

If in a BG entirely of LF they cannot shoot in impact phase.
