Broken Alliance/Endurance update review

Post by SiegeRollout »

Just finished on Admiral difficulty. Overall, I loved the Alliance missions as they were something new and added a lot to the overall plot. The new Minerva Battlestars are frightening, and I loved the support roles of the Celestra/Hydra. The repair costs after each battle certainly added more realism to the game. Lots of bug fixes like the "litebright" distortion of ships & stations. The new warhammer capabilities were a terrific add, and for the first time the Phobos ships will actually make tactical jumps during a battle which never happened before the Endurance Update.

The biggest downside was performance. The gameplay becomes more & more sluggish the longer the battle, and the number of total ships involved. Have to reset the game after each 2-3 battles to restore performance. No appreciable change in memory/CPU consumption, and it didnt happened before the endurance update, so not sure why. The install was buggy, but according to Support is now fixed.

I was disappointed that Basestars still seem to be completely removed from the game, except for Story missions where they are fixed parts. They disappeared after the the Reinforcement Pack. The new Argos Basestar (sweet Razor reference) only appeared in a single mission, was hoping to tangle with them more than I did.
