Ambushing Generals
Does a general in ambush need to have a BG with him or can you just hide the general, giving the impression of a bigger ambush or flank march?

Re: Ambushing Generals
Perhaps it would be simpler if I bought you an extra copy of the rules to take to work.philqw78 wrote:Does a general in ambush need to have a BG with him or can you just hide the general, giving the impression of a bigger ambush or flank march?
" Each side can place up to 3 ambush markers on the table. An ambush marker is a 40mm square in 15mm scale, 60mm in 25/28 mm scale. The player must clearly identify (by noting on the bottom of the marker) the single battle group from his order of march that this represents, and any commander who is to accompany it. Alternatively the marker can be left blank as a ‘dummy marker’ to confuse the enemy."
He needs to have a BG with him.

But if I brought the rules to work I would have even less to do. So I to post my questions here as I think of them. Besides, I'm not even allowed to read a newspaper, because I don't look busy if a big boss comes in, but surfing the web is OK 'cos I'm looking at my workstation. Reading the rules at work would mean real trouble. Whereas if I look like I'm typing something important they are happy.

Indeed. Slitherine are missing a trick. An online copy of the rules and lists without the colour and glossy pictures that you sign up for on the forum and pay to have access to... (I'll take my cut now for the idea please). Then those of us...err...you... who pretend to work whilst preparing lists can get away with it.

It's hard know how the global downturn will be affected: will the productivity lost due to list-making at work be offset by the revenue generated by a fee for online access to the rules? If Slitherine charges enough, we in the wargaming community may have a real opportunity to turn the economy around!Indeed. Slitherine are missing a trick. yes, but than he'd have nothing to do at work! other than to maybe . . . uh . . . work. I'm working right now as well. Somehow, this site hasn't been blocked yet.ars_belli wrote:Or you could write the questions down as you think of them, and look them up in the rules when you get home.philqw78 wrote:But if I brought the rules to work I would have even less to do.
