Erik's German Grand campaign - Iceland Nightmare!

Are you kidding me????? Tried to get a few turns in to this one several times and the massive Allied air and naval forces decimated me in short order each time!!! I do not see how to put a dent in it and am thinking the balance on this one is so far out of whack that there may be no way past it other than with a "Nuke" job!!!??? And I was trying on Level 2 !!! Thoughts from those who have experienced the "Iceland Nightmare"!!!!!??????

What mission are you talking about? Reykjavik?
If so, then you should already have a powerful, experienced core with many commanders and a ton of RPs to spare. Yeah, the landings are costly as usual. Never played the Marines DLC?

It would be nice if anyone else who have actually reached the last Sea Lion scenario to chime in.
As Gabe says, managing Reykjavik is depending on using the core Kriegsmarine and Regia Marina core units which should have been made available in previous scenarios.

Finally completed the Iceland scenario on the 4th attempt - Level 2 - and had to use 17 overtime turns to do it... I am NOT proud of this poor showing! The Allied forces kept my landing zones tightly pressed for many turns while my fleet was trying to deal with the large Allied naval force. This is one very challenging scenario!!!

Moved on to the Belgrade scenario which follows and was a bit disconcerted to find myself back in time - the Iceland scenario is in August '42 (?) and then back to April '41 for Belgrade! I had upgraded many units to those available in '42 (air, armor, inf.) and did not feel right about using these upgrades going in to Belgrade - so I RETRO upgraded them all back to what they were in '41,
seemed the only fair thing to do!!????
