A very hard and close fought battle. Remnants of my infantry managed to hold long enough for the cavalry to rout one of the Roman flanks and than rescue what was left of it.
A few of my routing units rallied towards the end of the game, and ggarynorman didn't have the means to rout them again, while my Numidian allies chased away his rallying units.
But it helped me stay below the 60% threshold, otherwise it would have been a draw for me at best.

Division A Round 1

SnuggleBunnies (Qiang) defeats ZygfrydeDeLowe (Chinese) 60-51.

As can be seen from the score, a brutal, close battle. The two armies were separated by a deep stream. I attacked, pushing across first on both flanks and then charging the center, pressured by the volume of Chinese archery. The Chinese chariots wreaked havoc on my Tribal Spearmen, and my center collapsed, as my assault was bloodily repulsed due to disorder from the river and the constant hail of arrows whenever my men fell back. However, on the flanks, my cavalry, with some light infantry support, eventually won the day. A number of my men also rallied, spending the remainder of the battle lurking to the rear. A little less luck for me and the result easily could have been different.

Good game.
