Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
I'm apparently having the same problem as Ironclad.
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Hmm... Thanks for that info.
Is it possible for someone to send me a saved game made on their computer? I'd like to see if I can open it on mine.
Sorry about this!

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Ah - never mind. I think I've figured out the problem in my loading code.
The quick and dirty solution:
Open saveGameList in the Player0 folder.
You'll see a list of SaveGame descriptions as xml.
The first three lines should be...
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<SaveGameList xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<SaveRecords>
Right below that, paste this in...
(If your computer uses American date formatting)
<SaveRecordForGame>
<Name>fogsavegame_15.sav</Name>
<Date>6/13/2018 2:25:06 PM</Date>
<Description>Game #5844 Year 500 CE</Description>
<Turn>-1</Turn>
</SaveRecordForGame>
(If your computer uses any other date formatting)
<SaveRecordForGame>
<Name>fogsavegame_15.sav</Name>
<Date>14/06/2018 16:52:50</Date>
<Description>Game #5844 Year 500 CE</Description>
<Turn>-1</Turn>
</SaveRecordForGame>
The longterm solution -
I'll put up a new version of the .exe. Sorry again!

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Now I'm getting a CTD on launch. :/
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
(Removed this as my initial diagnosis was incorrect)
I can edit it for you if you want to email it to me: stephennegus@yahoo.com.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Email with attachment inbound. Sorry about this.
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
No, not at all! You did everything right. It's being weird about date formats for some reason... Let me puzzle this out.
Ah... You must not live in the one country in the world where, for some reason, dates are written with the month before the year. My American computer writes this "6/14/2018" and your computer reads Fourteentember 6th and crashes in annoyance. Let me try to sort this....

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Are you just figuring out Ludendorf's issue or should we hold fire on your fix. May be better to have revised exec even if it means a few days delay.
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
We've worked out Ludendorf's issue, so the quick-and-dirty cut-and-paste fix works.
I can put up a revised exe very shortly, though. Either method should work. I thought I might wait to see if we discovered any more bugs, but either way is fine.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
So... v 0.31
http://www.mediafire.com/file/9atbsj59m ... 1.rar/file
You will need to uninstall 0.30.
This should be able to open the setup file, and has a more flexible loading system in general.
Other options...
1) Edit the xml in the saveGameList, as shown above
2) Just DM and tell me what you want your troops to do, updating at a later date when we get the bugs worked out
As of a couple of weeks ago I used my second computer, a laptop, to test file compability between computers. But then I emptied half a cup of coffee on the keyboard. Hopefully the burnt-out chips won't take too long to replace...

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Can't get 3.1 to install. Keep getting the message it is installed in another location - yet I had uninstalled 3.0 before attempting this new install. Tried shutting down and restarting my laptop but it makes no difference.
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Argh. Just to verify - no version of FoG_Campaigns shows up in this panel? (This is Windows 8.1. Win10 would look slightly different.)
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
Sorry if I'm stating the obvious - I'm just trying to eliminate possibilities... I'll look up reasons why things might not uninstall.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
No FOG campaign listed there.
The error details are telling me that the other install is version 3 in the same folder D but thats the one i uninstalled. I used an IObot uninstaller which removed everything and the removal is also confirmed by its absence from the Control Panel list.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
I've installed and uninstalled a few times and can't duplicate this.
Does the IOBit give you the option of un-uninstalling and doing it via the control panel?
This version should hopefully work.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Thanks but still have a problem. Failed to install with 33 this time telling me it was because the application download did not succeed. Even more strange the error summary stated:
+ Downloading http://bedroom_pc/FoG Campaign/FoG Campaign.application did not succeed.
+ The remote name could not be resolved: 'bedroom_pc'
As far as I can tell the download worked fine - I received the completed zip file and unzipped it and clicked on the installer in the normal way.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Forget above. I downloaded again and this time ran the setup from my download folder and it worked.
And its showing the two saved files - my singleplayer campaign and your multiplayer one.
Thanks for your prompt help on this.
Just checked and it does work from my D data folder so maybe the ist 33 download was flawed. (no idea where the bedroom_PC reference cane from though.
Thanks again will explore the multiplayer save tomorrow.

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Ah! That's great to hear! Thanks so much again for bearing with me on this.
Does fogsavegame_15 open and is it possible to give orders?

Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
It opens and allows me to switch to the Franks.
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
When I have done my orders for the Franks, do I send you the saved orders or do I click on Process Orders (Test) and send you the result?
Re: 500 AD global campaign using ToC - recruiting
Just send the saved orders. Process the orders means resolve them, do all the moves. I would do that on my end once everyone's orders come in. It won't hurt though if you process the orders to see what happens.
