Re: 2D PAINT AAR (COMPLETE IN 4 Pictures) + Victory screen
Summary: (of the pictures above)
as you can see on the first picture, i commited all my light troops and cavalry together with elephants to enemy flanks. destroyed his skirmishers and started killing and wounding his thureophoroi and thracians on the right and left (my angle)
then on the 2nd picture you ll see that my 1000 companions or hetairoi managed to gangbang his 500 thracians
photo: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 9DECB68AB/
at the same time his cavalry is running to catch my companions
and his phalanx is chasing mine down south
on the third picture you can see in the upper left corner that big battle ensued, my cavalry lost the battle as u ll see in 4th picture, but it managed to buy some time
at the same time on my right flank or lower right corner (still talking about picture 3) i isolated 250 enemy cavalrymen with my 1400 bowmen and 500 slingers and butchered them
at the same time my archers and katafrakts were pounding his thureophoroi and thracians (upper right corner). those thracians and thureos were in rough terrain so i managed to get a minor victory/draw by the time battle was over
while all this is happening, enemy superior phalanx is marching towards my retreating phalanx which is trying to run away untill i can commit my cavalry
finally 4th picture shows phalanx battle and my katafrakts coming from behind , routing his phalanx or part of it . at the same time on the left, enemy cavalry (victors of the battle in pic 3) now are rushing to strike me from behind, but it is too late by the time they arive the battle is over
all in all, this is how i imagined battle would play out. it was close untill the very end, even tho it said i had +30% difference in routed troops (green number)
because all the slaughter and decisive things happened in last few turns (result of my prolonging of combat)
