Failed Upload + Disappearing Army

Note: My opponent, Hendricus, has not attempted to load up his turn, so I have no idea what the current state of this is. I am reporting this bug as it resolves itself.

I finished my turn and uploaded as normal. It failed to process for about a minute, gave me the option to cancel out of the upload (I followed this) and then I was presented with my enemy's army having disappeared. Hendricus was using the Macedonian 355-329 BC list. I was Hannibal in Africa.

I attempted to save my turn for the moment without uploading in order to report the bug by going to the settings section; I was presented with only surrender or return to the battle. I have never attempted to save my turn and come back to it without uploading before; I'm not sure if that's even a mechanic or if I imagined it. At any rate, my options were as mentioned; there was no option to save the turn as it was.

I started clicking around and found my units were impossible to select. On top of this, the night effect appeared to come on. I sent a message to my opponent; this appeared to go in the log, but I was again unable to upload the turn and was kicked back to the battle screen. After a third failed attempt to upload, I was presented with the opportunity to simply forego the turn and the system kicked it back to Hendricus.

This was an odd one and the most destructive bug I've encountered to date in FOG II. More information is hopefully incoming as Hendricus sees things from his end.

Well, it's back in his now, but we've been able to play on as normal.

Weirdly, the game seems to have uploaded the turn normally. Things were as they were when I tried to upload the turn, Hendricus doesn't seem to have gotten any of my messages and appears to have been able to complete his turn as normal. It's as if the bug never happened.

It is normal for all the units to be moved back to their pre-move positions before the turn is uploaded, because the replay is not just a video, it actually starts with the position at the start of the other player's turn and recreates the final position at the end of his turn by enacting the exact same sequence of events again.

As the RNG starts with the same seed number, and the events occur in the exact same sequence, each combat and cohesion test uses the same pseudorandom number as it did the first time, so that the results are exactly the same as when the other player originally took his turn.

Sometimes the server reports that the turn cannot upload, but in fact it has done so. This is presumably what happened in this case.
