Engaging an Overlaping BG

Post by kal5056 »

Can a move to cover an overlap engage a BG that was only fighting as overlap into an existing melee?

Example: I BG of Kights in a 4x4 block engages a bg of pike after the impact the kinghts expand out to 3 wide with 1 in reserve. A bg of med foot bow move into overlap to support the pike. Can the fourth knight cover this overlap and in essence engage the bg of bow without a charge be either BG?

Thank You

When I first read the question I was going to answer no and point out that you cannot move into frontal contact with an enemy BG.

Then I read the example and what you are talking about is feeding more bases into a melee which is fine and you can definitley feed in more bases to fight a BG that is only there as an overlap. If the overlapping BG is capable of evading it cannot do so either which means that using the odd spare BG of light troops to get extra dice in overlap can be risky.
