If a BG of 6 Med foot swordsmen with 3 light foot bow is disrupted and is charged by a BG of cav they start with the following dice: 6 impact dice for the 3 front units and 3 support shooting dice. I must lose 3 dice for being disrupted.
Can I choose to lose the 3 shooting dice (Less POA) or must I lose them proportionaly (ie 2 impact and 1 shooting)?
Thank You

You must loose proportionately when there is a difference in POA or quality.
If you can't then you loose the better POA or quality.
So you have to loose 2 front rank dice and 1 support dice.
If you were fragmented you would have to loose 4 dice out of 9, which would be 3 front rank and 1 support.
If only 2 bases were contacted then you would have 4+2 dice and
If disrupted would loose 2 for 2+2.

Not quite. You lose 1 dice from the 4 as it has a complete set of 3. This then become 1 + 2 to deal with for the next one so it comes out of the 2. You then end up with 3+1.If only 2 bases were contacted then you would have 4+2 dice and
If disrupted would loose 2 for 2+2.
This the way it works always - remove dice from full sets and take the last one from the majority, choose if equal. So had you somehow managed % + 2 you would then have 1 from the five to make 2 + 2 and there could choose where the dropped dice came from.
So only rarely will there be a choice.

Good point, I sort of assumed MF support shooting but...MarkSieber wrote:Don't the LF lose one per two dice, thus making only 2 support shooting dice for the full BG before the effects of disruption?
In this example you would start with 6 impact dice plus 3 support shooting dice.
The three support dice are then reduced to 2 because they are from LF (lose 1 dice per 2) leaving 6 impact and 2 support.
Finally you lose 1 dice per 3 for disruption so you lose 2 of the 6 impacr dice and end up with 4 impact and 2 support which interestingly is exactly the same as you would get against disrupted troops supported by MF shooters.....
