Morning Sun - Minor issue
Just wanted to report a minor issue with Morning Sun and the new patch. In the second scenario planes are not able to fly over the chinese wall anymore, they need to take the gates/points to pass it, just like ground troops.

Re: Morning Sun - Minor issue
This is not fixed in 6.1.8:
This may be a clue. I assume a value of 1 in chassis.txt means a "WING" unit can fly over all of these terrain types. WING is the only chassis type that has a value of 1 for "wall" in chassis.txt (scroll down):
There is also a chassis.csv file which I would think would be a match for chassis.txt but it is not, at least not for WING (scroll down):
Does chassis.csv rule? Because if it does, that explains why WING cannot fly over wall anymore; it's not a column in the csv file at all. Plus there is a mismatch of values for "escarpment." Has anybody noticed in Sandstorm that planes cannot fly over desert escarpments?

No, not the case. This plane has no problem flying over this barrier of escarpments:Deja Bru wrote:Has anybody noticed in Sandstorm that planes cannot fly over desert escarpments?
Still, the omission of "wall" from chassis.csv may have something to do with the problem of the Chinese wall.

Re: Morning Sun - Minor issue
Thanks for the investigation
This one didn't make it to the top of the pile for the 6.1.8 patch, nor the upcoming 6.1.9 hotfix (which is just for the PBEM issue). It'll make the next update though

And the game will use the values specified in chassis.csv as default if nothing is specified in chassis_<climate type>.csv

Bruce, as always, you're good. That's exactly the problem.Deja Bru wrote:Still, the omission of "wall" from chassis.csv may have something to do with the problem of the Chinese wall.
Haven't tried this "bug" before now (it's really funny to see it), but the "fix" is exactly as you said. Just add "wall" as entry to the chassis.csv, and the planes are flying high again...
Thanks, noted for my mod update.

And I've updated the bug tracker for the team
