Under what circumstances can pursued cavalry not move?

Post by Ludendorf »

I've found a lot of my horse archer units at 0 AP after getting chased around. This is quite frustrating, as it means they can't move at all, and I'm not even sure if they can evade if charged in this state. Is this a bug? Aside from units that have just finished a pursuit, what conditions leave a unit at zero action points at the start of your turn? They effectively miss a turn.

Don't know for certain, but I suspect (based on Richard's reply to another thread) that if horse evade from a unit that switches from pursuit to an attack, then this would cancel their APs because this counts as happening at the beginning of the next players turn (probably yours) rather than the end of the previous one. I'm 95% certain that this is true for one of your own units that evades during your turn, so would make sense if it applied to pursuits from the previous turn as well.

Thanks. I began to suspect that might be what happened shortly after I posted this. Good to know.

Kabill is correct. Events resulting from pursuit charges count as part of the upcoming turn.
