Sacking camp and evading

Can skirmishers evade if you are charged while sacking a camp?

It doesn't explicitly say they can or can't in the rules, but imho yes, because they are not in close combat.

I would say it depends on where they were charged from and where the sackers are located. First off, is there enough room to turn the LF? If not then IMO they would be eliminated as you can't evade through a camp. Otherwise I think they can only shift over 1 base width to get around an obstacle other wise they are eliminated, must follow the evade rules. I had started a thread on this subject earlier and the result is that I would be careful sacking a camp when enemy are near.

They do try to do so ... but at times fail due to the camp getting in the way and get trapped. Hence at times its rsiking sacking camp with too many enemy nearby.

So does this mean that if they evade away from the camp before they can finish looting you save the 2 pts for the camp.

Just to clarify...

It is SACKED as soon it is contacted

It is REMOVED in a JAP when there is a CMT success to stop looting.

Lost? Being the first to some, and the second to others..

So to further clarify.

You have made contact with the camp so the point are lost.
You have not yet rolled to stop looting but if you are charged you can evade.
So you have gained the 2 points for the camp and you resolve the charge / evade in what ever manner the camp, terrain, and / or board edge dictates. Does everyone agree with this?
Thank You

Hey Si,

Just to clarify, this is an unfortified camp right? If its fortified you must still roll to sack it as per page 88. Its a little thing but a big thing
