Are we allowed to know which armies/eras the upcoming expansion covers? Just curious - I'll buy it anyway, but it would be nice to know what it is I'm looking forward to

Third Expansion
Testing for the third expansion opened a while ago, unfortunately I didn't see that it was for the steam version, also.

Re: Third Expansion
It’s a secret until the announcement
Re: Third Expansion
OK Jomni, secret it is then.
What do people hope for with the upcoming expansion?

Re: Third Expansion
Well there is a forum usergroup called "Field of Glory II Age of Belisarius Beta" which might hint at the contents of the upcoming dlc
I wish they announced the release date already!

Re: Third Expansion
Thanks - I can't see any such forum usergroup but that's a very good hint indeed. I hope no-one pokes your eyes out* for providing that info

Re: Third Expansion
I'd love to see some medieval armies too (Crusader States and or HYW stuff) but I think we will likely have to wait a while for that. They will probably do lots of Classical and Late Antiquity Ancients stuff first I imagine.

Re: Third Expansion
Agreed about the crusades/holy wars. Either way, I look forward to all the expansions, I can't really think of anything that I wouldn't like to have.

Actually we are more likely to chain him to a rock and send an eagle to eat his liver.hjc wrote:Thanks - I can't see any such forum usergroup but that's a very good hint indeed. I hope no-one pokes your eyes out* for providing that info

I'll interpret this as the quasi-official announcement of the next DLCrbodleyscott wrote:Actually we are more likely to chain him to a rock and send an eagle to eat his liver.hjc wrote:Thanks - I can't see any such forum usergroup but that's a very good hint indeed. Re: Third Expansion
It's already been (officially) mentioned elsewhere on this forum the next DLC being play tested is Age of Belisarius. I suppose the only real question is the time period and armies. I am under the impression it is not the same as Decline & Fall in the original miniatures version.

This is why I love this forum!Geordietaf wrote:Couldn't you send something Swifter Than Eagles? (hint)
I've been reading my Decline and Fall in preparation - whether it covers the same time period or not, it's good revision.
Re: Third Expansion
The things i like about every DLC for FOG2 is that i will have tons of "painted" armies and terrain inside my pc on my desk ..... a dream come true for every (too old) wargamer
