I'm the Constant Gardener

Nah, any kudos goes to scenario designer Shards.
I've played several of his creations, excellent stuff.

Actually, that's not true like this. You can watch them, but it's always the same nation you're seeing.
Yes, it says "End of Playback reached" or something like that, but if you click on "Pause" and then "play" again, it works. And it's helpful to have the scenario installed, otherwise there's no text.

You should rather put the whole buggish single player replay mode onto the bug list IMO. I prefer watching those to all the youtube videos where the guys never shut up...

And I really miss this "uran" guy. His tactics were something I'd have never even considered playing just single player. Impressive to watch. :!:

Thank you for those replays. Very interesting battle indeed. I don't know why, but both replays had to be viewed from the side of the British.

When you played British, I enjoyed your use of the tank to immediately split the enemy landing forces. Then following it up with continued attack on the beachhead killing as many units as you could. I must confess I too would have suffered similiar losses. I also found your use of double heavy AA interesting. What was your thoughts behind their pick?

In the same match I also loved to see your opponents German tank to be so decisive. I personally believed that on this map Tanks would be ineffective, I'm glad you both showed their strengths here.

When you played Germany I enjoyed your virtual exclusive use of Heavy Infantry and Engineers. Although fruitless I found your distraction force in the northeast corner to be very interesting.

Thank you!

I have reviewed your replays. I see you also used the exact tank tactic on British as ruskicanuk did. Very powerful move, here it prevented them from even landing! It was almost painful to watch the poor Germans die. I'm glad I didn't have to face this tactic as I know I would encounter difficulties!

As Germans it was interesting to see that your south force was ultimately a distraction, tieing up 3 British units the entire game. Your virtual exclusive use of infantry was interesting to see. I do approve of your do217k! I also used it :). I figured everyone would use the stuka however. Your northwestern force was very powerful, I never considered landing on that beach. You showed its strengths as it is close to the objective with limited close terrain that the enemy can dig in at. It was funny to see British recon units, not sure how useful they were however.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I think good efficiency reduction helps in long term better than direct damage. The trick is not to let the enemy regain their efficiency losses so gotta distribute the damage properly.

I'm also not sure why tapirman deployed those reckons- I think it was panic. He had a lot more resources than me and could've replenished his infantry losses on the north side. Oh well...

The problem I had at that stage was that I'd run out of command points (my units weren't being killed so much as being rendered ineffective - which was probably part of your plan 13obo  ) so it was either an engineer or the two recons! In answer to your question a432, they turned out to be cr*p :D

I certainly didn't play my best games during that round but your tactics were difficult to beat in any case 13obo, so a well deserved victory for you. You're right about the efficiency reduction, once you start down that slippery slide, it's very hard to claw your way back up.

Map's turn deadline is 25, at this rate it's gonna be ages again. Dolphin is trying to set up a time to play with no response from the other side. Any rulings from the judges?

If the opponent is not responding at all in several days I'd be inclined to rule a walk-over...
Is this the case here?
If a player returns one turn a day per game, the matches will continue.

So, i was gone yesterday and will be again tomorrow. This wouldn’t be a problem ofcourse but coupled with that i will be on vacation starting saturday for 2 weeks. So i think it would be better for me to give away the victory to dolphin instead of continue as i can’t play for all that time and I wouldn’t want to slow the tournament down for a whole 2 weeks. I hereby will resign and let the others play further. So good luck to dolphin and all others that are still in the tourney.

Thank you for being gracious on this, Fabio. It's difficult with time zones and limited time to juggle a tournament as well.

Are we ready to move to the semi-finals?
