Multiplayer games surrender
Multiplayer games surrender
I've a question to raise to all of the Multyplayer game lovers:
how can we avoid to play few rounds on a big battle, and when we start to gain a little advantage on field the oppinent suddently surrender...
example: I was playing Frigidus and my surrendered when we where 7% against 15% casualties!
It's extremely annoying especially on big battle where you spent lot of time to move all army

Play alot more games and then the sampling of players whom do that crap will eventually be a tiny part of your gaming and less noticeable. You likley wont ever see any one of them twice anyhow. If you do you can stear clear of their challenges at least .dkalenda wrote:I've a question to raise to all of the Multyplayer game lovers:

It does bring up a question that has bothered me before. When can it be considered 'ok' to surrender? It's one thing to throw in the towel when the battle is really just beginning and you're a few units down, but expecting someone to hang around for a 15-40% thrashing seems a bit much too sometimes.

15-40 isn't that bad, usually it seems pretty close and then bam!, in a turn or two its all over
I stick it out, I expect my opponents to as well. ( or at the least talk about it before just bailing!!)

The Field of Glory 2 Digitial League is run by two excellent fellows and their page is here http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=501
Season 1 finished not too long ago and Season 2 signups begin mid May with the tournament starting in June 1 IIRC. You are put in a division and will play round robin with a picked army. Armies are grouped together by time period to minimize anarchronistic matchups.

Re: Multiplayer games surrender
Having just received two such thrashings from you, I did personally enjoy the opportunity to reflect on the battle and what I could have done better. But I guess open challenge games aren't obviously a good context for that?Ludendorf wrote:It does bring up a question that has bothered me before. When can it be considered 'ok' to surrender? Re: Multiplayer games surrender
Well, that's pretty historical for some commanders to run away from battle at the slightest chance of defeatdkalenda wrote:I've a question to raise to all of the Multyplayer game lovers:

On more serious note, it's a common problem in many multiplayer games without a player ranking system, but I don't think this happens too often in FoG to be a problem.
Re: Multiplayer games surrender
It can be annoying indeed. I will happily give you a game of your choice and won't disappear. Having said that I away for a week in early May so you could either start after that or just tolerate my absence for a whiledkalenda wrote:I've a question to raise to all of the Multyplayer game lovers:
