Ok, I will make an update soon... I'm currently working on a big pack of "standarized" Opel Blitz with a variety of configurations... After I finish that, I will upload everything.
But, there is another project I'm working on: Shallow sea tiles for maps! I noticed that in the editor there was a "Shallow Sea" terrain type, but the was no special hex map tile for it... So, I did an (almost) complete set of shallow sea tiles and "coast" overlays which gives map makers the possibility to accurately show deep and shallow sea hexes in the map. Till now, that terrain type had not much use (if any) because there was only one naval movement type. But now, I can think about making three distinct naval movement types, giving more variety and some more tactical depth to naval unit combat in Panzer Corps...
For example:
- Coastal naval movement: For low freeboard small coastal and riverine craft (gunboats, ferries, coastal freighters, pontoons, etc...) which can sail over rivers and quieter coastal waters, but not on open seas.
- Shallow naval movement: For low draught ships (destroyers, light cruisers, may be escort carriers...) which can go over shallow and deep seas (they can sail to waters where heavy ships can't).
- Deep Naval movement: For heavy, deep draught ships (carriers, heavy cruisers, battleships, etc...) which can only sail over deep water and cannot go over shallow, confined waters.
Here is a screenshot of the Westerplatte scenario map, which was partially modified by me to show the idea of this mod. There is still an issue with the overlay tiles for Coast-Shallow-Deep sea interface, but the mod is more or less operative. I will give some thought if it is feasible to make a set of coast-shallow overlays.
This tile set is compatible with Intenso's frozen sea overlay tiles (thanks to him that saved me a lot of work). This mod only changes the three layer base, and the three coasts templates...
I hope someone finds it useful...
