Unit Stats Panel
Can someone tell me how to interpret the info on the unit stats panel. I kinda understand the catagories, but what numbers mean what ? And how can you keep the more detailed panel open.
Re: Unit Stats Panel
Most of the unit stats are explained in the manual here:

Re: Unit Stats Panel
The option to have a detailed Unit Stats Panel is found on the Preferences tab in Options, here (unclick it for detailed display):
Hovering the mouse over each tile gives a popup description. Here, we learn that the Long Tom artillery gun packs a heck of a wallop in shock effect (reduces enemy efficiency):

Re: Unit Stats Panel
Thank you. That's helpful. But why are there 2 helmets ( one red and one green ) and 2 wheels? And why different numbers ?
And what do the aircraft and ship stats have to do with an artillery counter? And on the simplified display , there are 2 numbers
under the icons. What's that about ? I hope you can see why I'm laboring under such confusion. I guess I'm just wishing that the
manual gave more of a detailed explanation of this " Unit Stats " display.

Re: Unit Stats Panel
Red is your attack value against that unit type, Green is your defense value when attacked by that unit type. Helmet = infantry, Wheel = mech.
Notice there are no Red values for artillery versus air or naval. Arty can't target them. There are Green values for artillery because from time to time artillery is subject to air & naval bombardment.
I also find the 2 numbers (or number range) more difficult to parse. I think it reflects the range of possibilities given the attacker's & defender's terrain type. The more you play, the more it becomes intuitive- the display becomes more of an "aha" reminder.

Thank you so much. That clears a lot of things up. But I'm curious as to how you figured this stuff out. Were you a beta tester ?

Not me. Bru88 and 13obo are our champions.
Re: Unit Stats Panel
The two numbers represent normal attack and close attack. The higher the battlefield cover the closer is the real attack value to close attack. I recommend using Unit Navigator Tool to read all unit attributes because when you hover with your mouse cursor of attribute you will get detailed explanation what it means.milesjb wrote:Thank you. Thanks Hojko ,
Re: Unit Stats Panel
The numbers on the left is the ability of the currently selected unit in a given attribute. The numbers on the right on the right show the ability of the unit currently under the cursor. The yellow number is the better of the two (for those of us that couldn't otherwise tell) This would be easier without the helpful yellow coloring. You can only do this compare amoungst your own troops. I forgot to mention that Mojko's Unit Navigator Tool Is a better bet (I feel) than the stats panel available in the game. Takes s second to figure it out, but once you have the hang of it, it's pretty easy and intuitive.
