Ethan did a super job running the tournament. I had a great time. I came in second to last, but I'll blame it on being a noob. I won't blame my army. I think the Teutonic Knight list I took was capable of defeating both armies I lost to.
I played Ethan's Ghaznavids in the first round. The bad part was that he is an excellent player. The good part was this was my fifth game of FoG and he was able to help me through the rules. Early on it looked like he was going to wreck me, but the Knights came on strong toward the end. I lost 19-6.
Matt Iverson's Abbasids destroyed me. I don't think I killed a single stand. He had the first move and jammed me against my baseline. My knights were forced into an unfavorable matchup against bow supported spear and he rolled like a fiend. Could have been an entirely different game if I had moved first. Like Ethan, he knew the rules well and was a huge help to a new player. Lost 25-0.
Jeff Tate was, like myself, a pretty new player. I wasn't looking forward to taking on the pike of his Early Successors. Unfortunately for him, he had too many pike (36 stands). My skirmishers managed to jam the pike wall while my drilled knights rolled the flank. Win 14-6.
All three opponents were great guys. Matt and his dad even took me out to dinner after the 25-0 trouncing.

Re: Fall In Results (USA)
Wow! The Foederate Romans won the tournament! I've been trying to come up with a list using that army that I could make work with no success. If Bill would be willing to share what his list was, I would love to see what he did to have such success. (Of course it could just be that he's just a fantastic player and I suck big time <grin>).ethan wrote:

Who cares about the bloody 15's, where are the 25mm results
The 25mm Fall In was a themed Storm of Arrows event. Anyone know how that went? Just kidding about the 15's, they are much easier to transport especially when you consider terrain.....
