Event Window often fails to open???

It seems that about half the time the event window does not open to tell what the event was!! Hear the clackity-clack of the teletype going but no window - and left to try to determine what if anything just happened - sometimes an event is just info, but other times it means new units or withdraw. This seems to occur across all the games so must be in the main engine?? Have others been noticing this????

I have not personally nor do I recall anybody else complaining about such a thing. I'm not a techie, unfortunately, but I can tell you that whoever does help you would want you to describe your computer equipment and operating system. I am pretty sure it is nothing to do with my system - just bought a new one a couple weeks ago! HP Pavilion 570 / core i5 duo at 3.0mgh / 16gig ram / 2gig Radeon graphics card!!!
However the campaigns I have been playing were saved and brought over from the old system (which was an inadequate one to say the least). The saved campaigns were started on game version 2.48 and or 2.99 as the old system could not handle the higher graphics demands of later versions. Perhaps this has something to do with the issue, unclear. I am now running version 5.2.9 on the new system. I will have to start some of the campaigns over from start and observe.

Again, I am not a tech (and I often wonder whether I should say anything here when it concerns tech matters instead of procedures, because it may look like the issue has been addressed, but I do want to provide some response in the meantime) but I seem to remember them saying that people would have problems with old game saves if they were from before the upgrade to version 5.x.x and in particular the 64-bit version.

So, you may have answered your own question. If not, please feel free to post here again.
