Weekly round-up

ruskicanuk (Thracians) secured second place in Division A this week with a victory in his last match. shadowblack (Indians) will finish third. At the bottom, things are beginning to look rather bleak for hidde (Armenians Tigranes) who has just 1 win from 7 matches, although a lot will depend on the result of his match with mhladnik (Romans). Valdavia (Seleucids) also needs a win from his last match against klayeckles (Ptolemaics). Cunningcairn (Indians) has won Division B this week with a win against MikeC_81 (Seleucids). Dortmund (Bosporans) needs one more win from his last two matches to secure second place. nyczar (Scots-Irish) has won Division C with a perfect record of 9 straight wins. Lognormus (Indians) will secure second place, ahead of Hendricus (Seleucids), if he beats majandro (Gallic) in his last match. There has been quite a bit of activity in Division D this week with paulmcneil (Indians) still being the player to catch with 7 wins from 8 starts. Praeter (Romans) slipped up this week with his first defeat, to Terribleangel (Bosporans), but he still remains the closest challenger in this division. A very exciting situation is developing in Division E where Zolwer (Spanish Sertorius) is now top after 3 wins this week and now has 6 wins from 7 matches. Gwaylare and pbuck777 also have 24 points but Zolwer has played one game less than these two challengers.

The completion rates are really excellent for Divisions A, B and C and good for Division E. Division D has caught up a bit this week and is now on schedule to finish by April 15.

Snugglebunnies is still top of Division A at the moment with 5 wins from 8 starts, but Breogan is looking very solid in second place with 4 wins from 4. There is a cluster of players on 13 points with ianiow the best placed to challenge as he still has 4 matches to play. At the bottom of the table hidde, edb1815 and TheGrayMouser all need points to avoid a relegation battle. Division B is still wide open with markwatson360, shadowblack, Cunningcairn and batesmotel all still having credible chances to top the division. At the bottom padster needs to win 2 of his last 3 matches to avoid automatic relegation. Division C is still incredibly close with nyczar now going to the front with 3 wins this week. ZygfrydDeLowe lost his unbeaten record this week but is still best-placed to finish on top with 4 wins from 5 matches. Barrold713 will finish bottom as he is 8 points behind the next player with only one match remaining.

Sennacherib has won Division B with an incredible 8 bonus points win in a row while second-placed Cunningcairn lost to third-placed shadowblack. Sennacherib's last match is against Cunningcairn.

klayeckles (indians) defeat MST007 (seleucid) 39 to 65

actually much closer than the score. mst007 played a brilliant game against the indians... delaying and thwarting all the indian strategic flanking manouvers and destroying the indian middle. Seleucids were dominating for the first 3/4th of the battle, but as the sun began to set the phalynxes in the center began to flag, and finally one of the few remaining bowmen managed a flank attack...the center seleucid crumbled, while the indians managed several rallies. when those core units broke the seleucid morale was decimated. the result was a wild swing in morale levels and the seleucids that remained became vulnerable to some last flank attacks. Well played!
