Re: Huns
Coming in Legions Triumphant DLC I would think.

Re: Huns
During the period the game currently covers the Huns may have been the same people as the Xiongnu who have several lists in the Silk Road Community Content download.

Re: Huns
I am pretty sure the idea that the Huns = Xiongnu was discarded a long time ago

Re: Huns
That's why I said 'may'. Either way, the Silk Road lists will provide a contemporary Hun like army for period the game currently covers.

Re: Huns
The Legions Triumphant preview yesterday on Twitch and YouTube featured a Hun army that looked quite imposing.

Re: Huns
I was surprised how much I liked playing the Huns. Superior horse bows/swordsmen is much better than your average Persian horse archers.

Re: Huns
They seem to be glass cannons. They're ferociously effective in the early stages of a battle, but they seem to lose momentum. Other heavy cavalry civilisations seem to be surprisingly effective against them too.

The other steppe people are not armoured heavy cavalry in this period. (Apart from Alan lancers).Witan wrote:Isn't this a bit historical inaccurate? Re: Huns
Well they don't have much problem fighting the lancers of the Ostrogoths, Gepids etc. that they historically conquered. They did not historically conquer the Sassanids, so we have no reason to believe they would have an easy time against them.Witan wrote:Ok thats good to know. But should huns really have problems fighting lancers and heavy cavalry? The other steppe people are not armoured heavy cavalry in this period. (Apart from Alan lancers).
(The Hepthalites did sometimes defeat the Sassanids, but current historical thinking is that they weren't actually Huns).
The Huns do not need to be made OP in order to achieve their historical successes in the game.
