Teutonic Knights "Fall In" Round One

Post by Hepius »

Had a great time at Fall In last weekend. It was my first wargame tournament in around five years. It was great to be back.

I took on Ethan Zorick's Ghaznavids in Round One. It looked like it was going to be a complete blowout, but I managed to pull out some points in the end.

Here is my Round One report.

Nice report. If you keep this up, pretty soon you will have the Hochmeister of the Order offering commentary on your generalship a la Hannibal. :)

That's great. You even added the madaxeman style captions! The models are really good-looking as well. If there's one possible improvement to be made is to take wider shots so we can see more of the action. The ones you have show the painting quality very well but sometimes it's hard to understand the context of the action.

Yeah, after I got home I realized I needed some more wide shots. I added the diagrams to try and help out.

I'm afraid my 4.7 megapixel camera won't handle the larger shots well. I wonder if my wife will let me get a better camera so that I can improve my battle reports?

I can't claim credit for the quality of the Teutonic figures. (The ones with grass bases are mine, however). The guys on snowy bases were purchased by a friend. I then traded him a ton of 7YW Prussians for them.

4.7mp should be more than enough to capture the shots for the web - IME its all about setting the lighting and setting the camera to take into account the lighting - and MS picture vewer can do lots of correction after the event anyway

But great reports 8)

I even was inspired to create a "Hannibal-style" Grand Master for you - feel free to download him and use on your site if you wish !!

Tim,

The Grandmaster is great! I'm glad to have him on board. (I couldn't get the blinking eyes and hatching chick to work on my website. Suggestions?)

Your battle reports were my inspiration.

The Grandmaster is an animated gif, so an image that has several looping frames of animation. I don't think slideshare supports animated gifs and that is the problem.

You save the image as "master.gif".
You upload it on your website (eg : http://sites.google.com/site/mattheppe/logos/master.gif)
Then on your site page you use the code or if it's for the page "http://sites.google.com/site/mattheppe/ ... -round-one".

Ahhhh.............I thought I recognized those Tuetonics..........I think I painted them about 5 years ago, and sold them. Glad you are enjoying them [I am actually doing them again......one of my many projects]

They fought well and deserve none of the fault for my losses. You did a beautiful job painting them.
