Every time I go to download one of these files I keep getting "error failed to unpack" using Microsoft edge windows 10 have tried firefox and chrome as default browsers without any success what is the problem and how to fix it?

Generally this is either a permissions issue or your AV preventing files from being unpacked. Try renaming your My Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory folder and running the game. It will recreate the folder tree and you can test whether campaigns download correctly - if they do then copy the files from the renamed original into the newly created folder.
