Status Counters

Post by Omar »

Someone posted links to the various suppliers that have FoG counters (disrupted, fragmented, broke, ambush, etc), but I can not remember the thread and did not bookmark them. Help?

If in the states go to any big box store (michaels walmart meijers kmart, etc) and go to their craft section...

They will have colored fuzz puffs.

Red - routing/broken
Yellow - fragment
Green - disordered
Orange - disrupted.

We give two puffs when the unit first becomes into the state, then remove one during the JAP..

Fuzz puffs? Colored poker chips are far more manly.

I guess we don't have to worry about I Corps putting up much of a fight, come January and the US Team Tournament. 8)

I have made some up...the main difference being one side says "Disrupted This Turn" and it flips to "Disrupted." We've found the biggest problem was keeping track of whether generals could bolster or not. Counters all flip at end of JAP phase.

I favor the 2/remove 1 method as it is easier and more reliable to check that there are no double markers on the table before the next turn begins than to read what the markers say, although if shrewdly colored it can work the same way.

Donnington also do dead guys which I quite like to use - you can see them here on the I See Dead Guys page

I seen a while ago a pic of a status marker that was round like a chip. It had the colour along the side and the top was flocked and I think had a figure laying down on it. Does anyone know the one I am talking about and if so can you point me to a URL? I just picked up some magnetic round markers that I want to try the same thing with. But I can't remember where I saw it.

Thanks

Brian

I get casualty figures (dead guys etc.) from Donnington & Essex. I use blue for disrupted and red for fragmented. I paint them as faded versions of regular figures, with all blue or all red clothes, but regular armor and equipment. The bottom of the figure (usually flat) I paint solid blue or red for easy picking up from the tray. Rout is no marker, usually, but if one is needed--say for light horse or foot which might be skirmishing--we jink the bases around, sometimes use a face down (all red) frag marker if it's not clear.

These guys come without the bases: http://shop.ancient-modern.co.uk/casualties-97-c.asp

Essex--see Medieval, Page 3 on the left sidebar: http://www.essexminiatures.co.uk/frames15med.html

Thanks for the Donnington link Mark. This is exactly what I am looking for to top off my cohesion markers. I'll still colour the sides but these figures will give the markers a great look. I like markers to be not intrusive and this will do the trick nicely. Thanks again, will send an email off tonight

I just saw their shipping rates for overseas and was wondering if anyone knows of a North American distributer?
