Order of Battle - Multiplayer Tournament - High Level Rules

Post by Shards »

Hi!

The Order of Battle MP tournament is a 32 person knock-out with the victor from each round proceeding forward and the losers eliminated.

The player pairings will be announced shortly and each round will consist of a paired game on a single map (Player 1 is Team 1 in the first game and vice versa for the second game). Each round will last for 2 weeks and you're encouraged to communicate with your playing partner to set up times where you can both be online so you can get your turns played.

Some high level rules that you should be aware of:
  • If a player Resigns from either game then it counts as a full resignation from the tournament! Please keep your games going!
  • If a player is judged to have purposefully stalled out a game, or not made the effort to play their turns, then the judging panel reserve the right to award a default victory to their opponent.
  • If a player is observed to be cheating the PBEM system by redownloading turns multiple times, then they will be disqualified.
  • Players MUST take a screenshot of the end game screen to prove the results.
The first round will be contested on [1v1] Two Bridges!

The rules for determining the winner of the games on Two Bridges are:
  • The Winner of each game receives 50 points (the target VP). The loser is awarded a number of points equal to the number of VP they have at the end of the game.
  • A victory by taking the enemy base also awards 50 points.
  • If both players win one game each, then we compare their points from the losing games and the player with the highest points goes through to the next round.
  • If it's still tied (v unlikely) then we compare the total RP remaining at the end of both games and the player with most wins.
  • If still somehow a tie, then the judging panel will toss a coin.

Hi guys
Here is the setup for round one. The scenario used in this round is the official Two Bridges.
Remember to agree on the last turn to be played when you reach the end of the two weeks (and may not be able to finish all turns).
Important: You must both provide a screenshot of the result.
Please try to save a recording of the match (pick yes in the popup when it ends).

Good luck to all commanders!
Erik

When the two weeks are up you may not have been able to finish the whole scenario.
Then you need to agree with your opponent that turn x is the final one.
This to avoid the other player taking one more turn if he sees that he is losing...
Just a little precaution :D

Figured it is something of the sort, but how do we agree on this last turn? I thought a neutral judge would decide on the winner if game doesn't finish within 2 week time frame.

Just to make sure that both players end on the same turn.

In a case of conflict, we can roll back turns and see what's happened previously. But, as we've said, the best bet is to play your games through to completion :D

Just a question, me and Herode_2 have decided stop at the current turn because of the deadline and our game is not finished. How do we take the replay of the match then as it only asks if the game ends?

Hi,

Your screenshots in the other thread are fine I think. I think that Erik might be extending the deadline to the end of this week, but TBH, I think you would will both games from those positions.

Yes, I think players should get to the end of this week to finish due to the teething problems at the start.
