How to put units in Trains ???

I have played scenarios wherein if I move a unit into a city it can then board a train I cannot figure out how to do this in scenario design. I put down rail lines and towns but no luck allowing train movement. Also, .... how can I start a scenario off where the unit is already on a train ???

Try this, only where I say "Select the truck or other transport unit," select the Train instead. Not the Armored Train, just the plain Train. Please let us know if you were successful.

For AI units, you need to spawn them with a train as transport, they won't get into one themselves.

Ok this is what is puzzling cause I am doing exactly what it says but obviously I'm not because its not working. Starting from scratch I click on an infantry unit a German Infantry 39' and left click them onto the map then I scroll over to the train and left click on the train in the units thing the train is now highlighted and scrolling over it - it reads train then I hold down the <CNTRL> key and left click on the infantry unit but nothing happens - I am expecting to now see a choo choo train. The Armoured train is all the way to the right I'm not using that one.

Ok so then I figured they need to be on train tracks still nothing then I figured a supply area needs to be there still nothing then I though maybe cause I need to start the scenario from the main menu but it just shows the infantry unit.

So there is something I am not doing - I am able to place an infantry unit and then give it a truck - I do exactly what the manual reads and control click a truck and then one just sees the truck.

I must need a new computer.

But thanks for answering me back - I probably need to open an already created scenario with trains and find out where my glitch is.

I have a track layed down I am able to put down an empty train and move it around and hear the cool sounds.


I am sort of starting to get somewhere ok If I put down a town from Decorations menu I think I have a town cause I can then put down a Supply area from the Other menu but If I put down a town from the TERRAIN menu NOW when I click on a unit in the town - THAT UNIT CAN JUMP ON A TRAIN - [a train that is not visible but it allows train travel which is what I am currently hoping to achieve - ok so for what I am trying to do I do not even need to put units into trains I can just put down the right terrain and the units can get into a train ok so I am getting somewhere going to see what happens with having a Terrain Town down on the map maybe then I can control click a unit into a train whoo hooo
