I looked at it for a long time and tried many different iterations and I could not get that Japanese cavalry unit to do anything either. His scenario is contained in the file linked below called "test 6 - land" which I renamed only to differentiate it from the other file. Nothing else is changed about "test 6 - land" from what he uploaded.I have 1 Human British unit on a Primary VP with a British flag. I have 1 AI Japanese unit in its own zone 7 hexes away that I want to attack the single VP. It is Team 1. It does not move on test. Whether I tell it to Move to the VP Hex or Attack in general, it does neither. It is in supply and has Command points etc. Strangely, if ordered to move to a Hex that is not a VP or is unoccupied it DOES move.
The other file is named "test 6 - sea" and that's because I used his scenario and merely changed the terrain to sea, the two opposing units to ships, and the AI team task to Naval Capture Hex. The Japanese ship goes right for the hex on which the British ship is sitting, as commanded.
I thought the reason could be that there is a difference between the land task "Move to Hex" and the naval task "Naval Capture Hex" but the Japanese cavalry unit did not respond to "Seek & Destroy," either.
As you may know, I have been working on naval scenarios for quite a while now, for a reason. So, I would not have seen this Land Unit AI Bug if it does exist. Does it, do you think?
