Hi
we now have a date for campaign 12/13th May. So I'm now trying to get a feel for the level of interest in a FOG competition. Also I assume people are now playing FOG version 3 if this isn't the case let me know. Assuming there is sufficient interest I'll be posting some periods in due course.

Oxford will certainly be there probably 2 teams, I am confident there would be enough for a league, Reigate ,MAWS,
V3 is now being played ,it is definately quicker 2.5 to 3 hours a game .so you may want to change the playing times a bit
Get it out there , copy Tim Porter for BHGS coverage, I'll bring it up at Winchester

Reigate will be there. And the folk from Wessex have said they should be there too. Certainly it should be FOG3.

Yep looks like we have more than enough teams for Campaign so it's all systems go. In other news Phil will both be setting this years periods and checking the lists. The periods should all be finalised this weekend.

Probably a good idea to use this tread for communication as I don't have a date for the website to be back. If there are any single players out there looking for a team then let me know as I have two players looking for a third.
A couple of points of Admin Phil has Volunteered to be the list checker for FOG so lists need to go to him. Phil can you confirm what e-mail address you would like them on.
The next thing is length of games a couple of people have suggested a shorter games allowing longer breaks and an earlier finish on the Saturday. How do people feel about that ?

If people wish to reduce game time then we need to reduce the number of points used. I would suggest 800 for the Roman period 830 for the Russ period and 850 for Mongol period.

Personally I'd rather keep it as published. Most of the games at Roll Call finished within the time and many / most appeared to feature army breaks.

I'm quite happy as it is at 900pts. The Roman period shouldn't involve too much skirmishing and should be completed well within time on most tables.

Rollcall was 3.30 hours max and 50% plus did not finish in the time.
Campaign has never been more than 3.15 hours max and over the years has been 800pts. Why is FoGAM become a 900pts singles game?
We are not promoting FoGAM V3 by looking to be the same game time as previous versions, just by increasing the points . Note the people clearing up at the end of Rollcall, the committed Central London guys, Lance, Richard from Meg and a couple of others, Most of us FoG guys were still playing, not me I had lost by then.
I believe Campaign should be 3hrs max and the revised points Phil has suggested.
There seems little point Terry spending all this time revising the rules, beta testing, changing the points system and army lists, if all we do is increase the competition points values, to allow use the the option of an IC and as many superior troops as possible.
