Rear support advice

Post by Hepius »

I'm planning on having a battle line with 4 Kn(S) on the left, 6 Kn(A) in the middle, and 4 Kn(S) on the right. I am going to put 6 HF(A) in support of the Kn(A). How would you place the HF so that they provide support without getting in the way when the Kn(A) rout?

Put them in a block 2 bases wide and 3 deep either on the left or right side. The Kn (av) will probably lose a base or two before routing (more likely autobreaking at 3). They will be able to shift 1 base width to clear the HF. Then when the pursuers hit the HF you will be able to feed the rear ranks in during melee.
