On the side of balancing I am not thriled by Soviet deploy zone. Especially swampy area to the south, it really hampers movement. Also in later stages Germans have closer recruitement centers and terrain (town) where any other unit that big bad heavy tank can take advantage off.

Disbanding a tank after using it to attack my artillery? Low blow ;-)

All for motherland... until the next patch.

It didn't help me though, wrong bridge gamble on my side.

As a player, I was quite happy with that outcome. I'd also gambled on a southern Fist but had to find a way to adjust the plans so that I could secure those Northern bridges. Had to do a bit of sub-optimal maneuvering around the 3rd bridge to try and get you to feel like I was assaulting that target.

As a designer, I really liked how that felt with both of your forces descending on Raseiniai and having to hold the river line to the south whilst I skirmished up in the North.

I think it's a good sign that I felt nervous opening up the game each time as I was sure that you'd deal me some knockout blow somehow :D

Scenario has great deal of uncertainty involved which is good. There are several approaches that could be attempted which makes it varied. The whole process of learning what works and what not is enjoyable in its own right. There are some details from this playtrough that will make me redefine approach. Soviets did look powerful in equipment but I do not think this sole game is enough for me to say did they struck the right balance or are they overbuffed.

How many RP's did you have left at the end? I had about 530.

Damn, just basing this on your discussion, but the map sounds pretty fun already! (I'm a willing beta tester too)

Around 100 or something. But I just tested it in Hotseat (it crashed BTW). It is all about wrong approach with the Soviets. With my new approach agains myself I felt Soviets were overpowered. Let me give you another example of me playing as Soviets so we will see.

This map is really different. I would wormly recomend it if you are for some tank action.

Haha, that is not an attractive offer :D :D :D

Does it rely on you taking lots of 1942's and SU152's that shouldn't be available? ;-)

Interesting that I buffed the Russian income after the 0.2.0 play-tests... maybe I was right initially?

I do not use SU but Model 1942 T-34 yes. Is this going to be changed in units file? One tier lower tank is cheaper for just a margin. German can buy tank for 135 RP while Soviets for 190 RP (or something close). Initially there was a need to buff the Soviets. But what I did is to go heavy as much as I can in first rounds and dispersed my strength.
Germans got much more beattings and not a single bridge was in danger. Scenario crashed before seeing how would it reflect if battle was protracted but I felt confident in capturing Raseiniai, only Kelme was in German hands by than.

Yeah, the 1942 is moved to it's correct dates in the current Open Beta, so I wouldn't expect it to be around for future use :)

Not quite sure how this ending is calculated?
The two primary ?s are checked on the Soviet side possibly?
