About Stug III E update
I'm playing panzerkrieg with 2 stug III E until the stug III F release but so sad that we don't have upgrade path for the III E because its not an AT unit (but it still has anti tank mode trait -wtf?). I want to ask guys if we have further and useful upgrade path for the III E ? Or should I keep this old version till Kursk or shell it (while crying) and buy the III F immediately ?
Re: About Stug III E update
All versions of StuG are below.
StuG IIIE finishes the infantry guns section with a short barrel, in my opinion there is no further development path for this vehicle ... unless StuH 42 (but it was rather a self-propelled howitzer).

Re: About Stug III E update
its so hurt bro, i heard that kursk must be solved by stug III F. I will keep it as support fire to wait StuH42 as you said. Hope its not wasted

StuG IIIE can only be upgraded to a tank or artillery...cutydt02 wrote:its so hurt bro, i heard that kursk must be solved by stug III F. I will keep it as support fire to wait StuH42 as you said. Hope its not wasted
It will cost a lot of resources
Re: About Stug III E update
I upgraded it to Brummbär in the Kursk scenario. There's no assault gun -class in the game so sometimes they are tank/artillery and sometimes AT. I don't remember any other game in which StuG IIIE and Brummbär are (incorrectly) classified as tanks.
Re: About Stug III E update
Yep, this matter defeats somewhat the cost-effective upgrade-path of the StuG series, although having F-G as tank-class too could make it attractive to cheaply change the old Pz.3 fleet to StuGs F-G later. F-G need to be anti-tank class, so that's no good solution.
Another bummer is that F-G don’t support a plausible artillery-mode (yet) what could have made it possible to upgrade B-E to F-G in artillery-mode even without changing their tank-class. I don't see why that option would still be a terrible thing to add later to the game.
The StuG B-E already have fluffy mech-attack values, so what’s the deal for not declaring it as anti-tank class? These assault guns have been issued with HEAT ammunition since June 40 to defend against tanks. The OOB-engine differs well between open-ground long-range and close-terrain short range attack values, so short-barreled units won't be that effective on cover-less terrain.
I personally had no quarrel changing all StuGs and StuHs to anti-tank class to fix this upgrade-issue in my game.

Re: About Stug III E update
Yes, you’re right. Even the stug III E has anti-tank mode, its still not an anti-tank. Because of the high upgrade cost of OOB, i dont think upgrade them to brummbar or stuh42 will be cheap enough to ignore useful panzer 4
