Thank you very much for getting the answer to my question about the 88s A-T range.

Random number from 1 to 3 for attack and defense.
For movement, spotting, range, initiative bonus is +1.
3 Heroes maximum per unit.
You can also get some special scripted heroes in the campaigns with huge bonuses.

I don't Think that there are Random Heroes with Initiative bigger than +1

Or maybe I'm an extremely unlucky General.

At least I do Not remember having seen a Initiative Hero bigger than +1 randomly assigned
And only Spotting Heroes make me more unhappy.

Thanks, and as a matter of interest has anybody ever seen 2 or 3 heroes assigned to a single unit?
3 heroes each with +3 attack would add +9 to the units existing Attack strength, that'd be quite a wallop!
Also if they each had +1 range, that'd give a typical 105mm artillery piece a huge reach of 6 hexes.
As for movement, their combined +1 bonuses would add a whopping 3 hexes to everything, very useful for slow units like pushed AA guns which could now scoot about at speed 4 to chase down aircraft, and pushed AT guns could be quickly thrown around at speed 4 to plug gaps in the path of enemy tanks

Of course. You'll get many heroes playing a long campaign.

Some of my heroes from US Corps:

I think Initiative heroes used to be +1 to +3 but were restricted to +1 in a very early upgrade.

I've had a Strategic bomber with two +3 attack heroes. Very good for mincing ships but also very effective against pretty much anything on the ground and usually made any fighters pay for attacking him. It was a bit expensive as he was worth running at 14 or 15 strength and I often used two escort fighters.
I did once have a unit - I think it was US rangers - with +8 attack. +5D (the most I have had) is nice generally but especially in close terrain, since starting CD is usually so low.

+2 move towed artillery can be useful and on a 128 or US 90mm AA gun becomes very handy.
+2 range is interesting. 3-range Stug 3, 4 range Stug IV, nebelwerfrer or wurfrahmen can be interesting, but a 5range 105mm is very good for safely suppressing AA or artillery behind the enemy front line. You could also have a 4 range 75mm or 25 pounder - huge ammo count, 110% ROF makes it very good against soft targets and still handy for counter battery fire. If it's AA, I reckon you can't beat a long-range mobile AA - great protection for your forward units plus the ability to attack anamy aircraft the US 37/0.5" combo with 8 move and 4 range could cover a huge area.
