don't know how to do my HYW English men at arms

Post by will05 »

The HYW English continental list says 'dismounted men at arms, lesser men at arms and billmen'. I have packs of dismounted knights, sargents, and some billmen. Should I mix these in a single battle group. Should I mix them up on each base.

I was thinking of mixing 2 knights and 2 sargents on 2 of the bases (with a sargent in the colours of 1 of each of the knights), and 2 bases of non retinue billmen (billmen in earthy colours) on the other two bases.

There seems to be some indication that all the knights were grouped and I get the feeling that I am currently going in the wrong direction with this. Would the knights fight with there retinue or there peers?

I am using the Corvus Belli dismounted knights and Sargents, pics here:

Making bases of only knights, only sergeants and only billmen would help in case you take different armour status. Use the knights as the front bases for Hvy. Armored, sergeants or billmen and sergeants for armoured, superior, and only billmen for armoured, average.

Agreed, this is what I have done with my Corvus Belli

Lovely figures that are easy to paint :D
