Charging cav 1 rank deep

Post by philqw78 »

I always remember this at work where I have no rule book. It would be nice if someone can put me out of my pain.

Can cavalry 1 rank deep stop 1 MU from battle troops that are exposed by evaders or routers if charging, like skirmishers can?

For example a BG of Cav 1 rank deep decides to charge a BG of LH. The LH evade and move past, through, around, a BG of HF. Can the charging cavalry decide to stop 1 MU away so they do not contact the HF?

No they must contact.

Only (IIRC) skirmishers can stop at 1 MU and whilst 1 rank deep non-Shock cavalry can evade they are not Skirmishers.

p.60 says skirmishers whose targets evade halt 1MU from enemy that they would need a CMT to charge.
