I have noticed that sometimes my lancers attacking enemy light spears cavalry don´t have the 100 POA by being lancers, and that is in open terrain, is there any other consideration that plays here? I have considered terrain not level or units starting the attack close to the enemy but I don´t find anything in the game rmanual, any ideas?

Are you absolutely sure it is in open terrain? Neither unit in terrain. No field boundary ditches, streams etc.

I like lancers, especially the cool looking Macedonian lancers and one of them is Alexander himself in charge.
