Can I take Moscow?
Re: Germany Grand Campaign
There is a Moscow scenario.
You need a decisive win at the prevous scenario, Vyazma, to move to Moscow.

Will we find the true equipment in your custom campaigns?Erik2 wrote:I have stitched together my three custom campaigns Blitzkrieg '39-40, 41-42 and Sea Lion.
After you have finished the Maginot scenario you should be able to choose between Channel Islands (the Sea Lion Route) and Belgrade (the Blitzkrieg 41-41 route).
It would be very wise to do a manual save at this point so you can go back in time and try the other branch later.
I plan to do other German 'smaller' campaigns and add them to this mega campaign.
The Germany Grand Campaign is the one that will be supported from now on. I will not have time to fix issues with the three earlier campaigns.
Have fun.

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
I update any substitute units with proper ones whenever a new campaign has been released.
But with 90+ scenarios I will probably miss out on some.
So detailed feedback on any unit issues is welcome

Hi Erik, is version 1.0 to 1.1 minor stuff / unit updates or anything more significant? I noticed the version incremental update today, but there are no notes on the first OP so do I assume, small stuff?
Not that small stuff isn't a lot of work!
I love this Grand Campaign, thank you for all your hard work.

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
Erik, what difficulty level have you been optimising single player on for these scenarios? I'm finding the supply level for the AI player really tough, if you don't swat them first time they re-equip back to full strength every turn, pretty much whatever state they're in. I appreciate encirclement and Supply are key aspects to what makes these scenarios a worthwhile challenge but I feel like I'm playing whack-a-mole right now.
Comments from other players on difficulty levels would be gratefully accepted.
EDIT: The AI re-supply may have been a particular scenario (the first one) not so bad as I went on to the second scenario. On reflection it may also be a feature of the first scenario.
Right now I have the 'Thinking' problem, where the game just stalls (near the end of Danzig)
Comments from other players on difficulty levels would be gratefully accepted.

I play on middle difficulty. Any higher would be too hard IMO.steevodeevo wrote:Erik, what difficulty level have you been optimising single player on for these scenarios? The whack-a-mole can be a real problem. I don't know how many resource points the AI gets per level but I do believe there are limits per turn. The same rules still apply to the AI though: no reinforcements when encircled, +2 when next to player, +2 after moving, +5 if not adjacent to player. The game is very much about destroying units so they can't reinforce. Really hard scenarios like the Arras one I mentioned means you are in tough killing individual units, and if you don't kill them, you're in for a world of hurt once the next armoured column arrives.
Almost any scenario can get that damn thinking problem. I found when things are working the AI will execute most of its actions by the middle of the load bar, then it jumps to complete. If it starts hanging up I just reload the End Turn autosave until it works again - sometimes takes a few times.
@Templer, I put the campaign in the My Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Campaigns folder
Re: Germany Grand Campaign
Hey Erik, a few more levels done:
The Belgrade scenario I didn't receive my commander for bringing the two Romanian officer (horse) units to Belgrade. The same thing happened with the Greek Metaxas scenario - destroying all the tanks objective I think. Anyway, no commander for either of those. Both levels weren't that hard but they managed to take their pound of flesh - so resources better spent on Russia were lost, I like that.
I played the Rhethymo scenario for the invasion of Crete. Not a bad scenario (my poor invasion fleet!). My mountain infantry arrived too late to help at all; it's a good thing I had one of my airborne units making their way south or I would never have got that final objective. I noticed that the "Land the Gebirgsjager units quickly" message would fire each time I took another town not just when I linked up the two sides of the map.
Now, off to stab some commies in the back.
Edit: I'm still playing on 1.0 so if you've already corrected things just ignore this.

A couple of the scenarios would hang in the previous version, so update highly recommended.steevodeevo wrote:Hi Erik, is version 1.0 to 1.1 minor stuff / unit updates or anything more significant? Re: Germany Grand Campaign
Hey Erik, how do you transfer save files from 1.0 to 1.1, or can you?
Anyway, completed a couple more scenarios: The Minsk one I had that same problem with no commander after killing all the tanks. Same for the Smolensk scenario, no commander after killing 20 or so tank units
. Smolensk had a few problems with it actually. When you capture the secondary objectives and it spawns a T-34, it will spawn another unit each time you conquer a town or city square (I had 5 I think). Also, I got a whole bunch of resource points (like 3000) for completing one of the objectives, can't remember which. Also, Vitebsk is marked as a primary objective but the town itself has only a regular city flag. I also received 44 specialization points for completing the scenario. That makes 3 scenarios: one of the early Poland scenarios, one of the French scenarios (can't remember which ones, sorry), and Smolensk where you get a whole bunch of extra specialization points. I was sitting on 200 after completing the scenario just now.
Happy Festivus!

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
I'm afraid you need to download the whole campaign package.
You should then be able to restart the current scenario and the campaign will pick up the latest version.
I'll take a look at your latest feedback, much appreciated.
A few quick answers.
The specific commander may have been assigned in a previous campaign and will thus be unavailable.
I need to check all scenarios (!) and create a spread-sheet for all assignments. That is going to take some time...
There's an issue with the Campaign Editor and specialisation points. Basically, you can't currently edit them in the editor. So no way to fix it. I've reported this.

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
Ah, that makes sense. I picked up a number of commanders in the first bunch of levels but nothing since then.
Regarding 1.1, I had downloaded it to the same folder as 1.0 (which I removed), but the save I loaded was the one of the campaign map right prior to the Smolensk scenario. It ended up showing a map of the Pacific Theatre so I knew something was off. I'll try again with save game after starting a scenario proper.

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
Hey Erik,
I've hit a dead end. I completed the Vyazma scenario but the campaign abruptly finished. Looking over the branches in the campaign editor it looks like you forgot to add the Moscow '41 and Demyansk pocket scenarios; branch #66 & 67 are both empty. It would be a pretty easy fix as I see you made those scenarios; however, when I select "add scenario", the scenarios extend beyond the right side of my screen and I can neither see nor click on either scenario. Any way to scroll through the scenarios?
Regarding Vyazma, an event will fire once you capture Myansk (I think that's the name - the primary objective closest to Moscow) which says you can now conduct a recon in force against Moscow; however, Moscow is a secondary objective so the scenario will end. You have to capture Moscow first if you want a DV. Might need to rework that. No problems with the Kiev encirclement scenarios by the way. I did receive 7 specialization points after beating the 3rd scenario but that seems fair for such a large encirclement.
Also, I can't seem to get my saves to work on version 1.1 - still using 1.0 at the moment. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: You might also want to make Vyazma a little harder. I'd recommend another grouping of armour around that last primary objective. Things are pretty sparse past Vyazma so it was rather easy achieving a Major Victory. Well, aside from the issue I mentioned above.

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
These darn scenarios are so clever, not just straight forward strength or rock paper scissors, you can really mess them up, think they're impossible then think things through, and find a winning way.. drives me nuts, in a good way

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
Has somebody advice how to install thos mod ? I copied this in my \Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Mods folder.
First, it does not show up in the Mod launcher. Only I added a small mod.txt file (copied from other mods) the Mod Launcher recognize the mod.
Second, I can only start single scenarios, but not the campaign. There is no camapign picture.
I use the steam version, 5.2.3 64 bit, don't have the Panzerkrieg and Burma Road DLC.
Thanks

There's a difference between a Mod (changing game values) and custom scenarios/campaigns.
A custom campaign should be placed here:

Re: Germany Grand Campaign
First of all I must say thank you Erik, for all the time you spend, making great campaigns.
I recently started playing GGC1.1(on steam OOB)everything was fine until map nr 15 Haag.
When that map started, I could only see the preview map for Haag, there was no buttons or any text, just the preview map in full screen.
I restarted the campaign and "nuked" from map 1-15 to see what happened this time.
The results was the same, only the preview map is loaded, and nuking from the command bar does nothing.
I uninstalled OOB and GGC from my computer and downloaded it again.
Started once more playing from map 1.
This time the result was different.
After map 10(Brest) the next map was Denmark(12 how is that possible?) anyway finished that map and next map was Norway(11)
Now all maps on Norway have the same fault as Haag, I can only see the preview maps of the level I choose, nothing more is visible.
At the same time my computer gets really slow, like OOB is eating up all ram/cpu power.
And since I have a Nvidia 1070 on a 4790K cpu, win 10 latest updates, I find that hard to believe.

v1.3
Link updated in first post.
Scenarios fixed/updated: Den Haag, Leningrad, Wyszgorod, Brest, Smolensk, Vyazma.
Norway scenarios were fixed in v1.1.
Denmark replaced with smaller Sjælland scenario. The additional Jylland scenario on hold until an issue with the crop map tool is fixed.
The branching after Vyazma can't be fixed until the devs adds a scenario scroll bar. Currently I'm unable to add the missing Moscow/Demyansk scenarios.
Here's my Campaign Editor issues thread for anyone interested.
http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 74&t=80913
Edit: There's still an issue with the Haag scenario when running it in the campaign. It works fine as a single scenario. Still investigating...
Edit2: Fixed the Haag issue. Updated link again.
