No reward for saving the 6th Army
If you managed to save the 6th Army in the Winterstorm, you are supposed to get a reward for your feat later. The reward is a free core unit (randomly of three possibilities) and some CPs in the Kursk scenario. What you actually get is the same you are probably already used to: nothing.
It won't help me, but I hope this will be fixed.

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
I took a look. From what I can see, it's working properly on both ends. What blew it for you, perhaps is that to win that objective in Winterstorm, you must have a supply link open AND 8 "Kriegsmarine" units must still be alive when the scenario ends. If either is not true, then the objective is failed and you don't get the campaign variable set to give you the goodies in Kursk.

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
In my case I lost no units in Stalingrad and opened the supply route. I will have to look at the scenario in the editor and see if one of the NPC units I got for Kursk was one of the rewards.
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Do you got a savegame of your Kursk playthrough? Because it's working fine for me.CoolDTA wrote:If you managed to save the 6th Army in the Winterstorm, you are supposed to get a reward for your feat later. Also re the extra CP, these work in combination with the Caucasus oil objective. So you get some more with both achieved (oil pumps captured, *and* 6th Army saved) and some less with only the oil pumps captured.
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
I have one from the beginning (briefing) - is that ok? I only lost one "Kriegsmarine" unit in Winterstorm, so the 8 alive requirement was easily satisfied. Supply route was opened. And yes, I know you get 6 CPs with oilpumps+6th and only 3 without the 6th. Btw., should you get the 6th Army reward at the beginning or only later in the battle?
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Yes, pls. attach the save.
As for the CP reward - it should come at the start of the scn. Without any bonuses the "pure" land CP for Kursk is 95 at the start.
How many do you got? (Or, if you post the save we can see ourselves

Played some Winterstorm yesterday. Seems great, just one thing:bebro wrote:Yes, pls. attach the save.

Suddenly, one of the supply planes I was supposed to land disappeared. I think it has to do with the way the trigger is set up:
I took my time with the first supply drop, I wanted to clear the skies from enemy fighters before I landed it in Gumrak.
So around Turn 10, the second plane shows up. I land the first one in Gumrak and think "sweet, now number two" - but it is gone from the map.
Definitely not shot down. My guess is that the trigger removes all the supply planes once you land one and thus does not allow overlap between supply missions.
Could that be true? Bru, bebro?

Interesting, because it reminds me of the nonsense I went through with a similar operation in Oahu Invasion. I'll take a look at it tonight and post here again.Andy2012 wrote:Played some Winterstorm yesterday. Seems great, just one thing:

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Edit: the 1st supply plane has a fuel limit of 8 to avoid an overlap, but if ppl drag it out we can add a range check on the remove trigger to make sure only the plane at the airfield gets removed.
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
I got 106 CPs (=base, +4 specs, +3 Maykop oil, +4 quick win at Kharkov). Don't really mind the points but would like the free unit.bebro wrote:As for the CP reward - it should come at the start of the scn. Without any bonuses the "pure" land CP for Kursk is 95 at the start.

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Yep, that is what I was doing - I landed the supply plane to get a bit more wiggle room in terms of fuel while clearing the skies. I get more than two supply planes during the mission, right? Because right now, I have none even though I could easily fly several in.bebro wrote:Edit: the 1st supply plane has a fuel limit of 8 to avoid an overlap, but if ppl drag it out we can add a range check on the remove trigger to make sure only the plane at the airfield gets removed.
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
No there are only two.
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Thanks for the save - the "6th Army saved" objective is counted definately as failed there. So Kursk itself is fine.CoolDTA wrote:I got 106 CPs (=base, +4 specs, +3 Maykop oil, +4 quick win at Kharkov). Save attached.
Did you per chance play on older version of Winterstorm?
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Yep, thought as much because it is the only logical conclusion. Now the difficult part is 'why'. I did all the required things, but for some unknown reason the objective still failed. I think this is one of those incidents that are really hard to debug. The scenario was played with 5.2.3., so that was not the cause.bebro wrote:Thanks for the save - the "6th Army saved" objective is counted definately as failed there. So Kursk itself is fine.

Thanks for your trouble, Bebro!

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
I see bebro answered in the meantime, but yes, that's the issue with this trigger. When the one above it, "Supply airlift1 arrived," activates, it turns this on which has a very simple effect: It will "sweep the skies" of any Ju52 supply planes currently aloft, anywhere. If you have more than one, both will be gone at the same time.bru888 wrote:Interesting, because it reminds me of the nonsense I went through with a similar operation in Oahu Invasion. Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
@bru, bebro: Thanks, I hope somebody will change this with the next patch. I guess I now have to revert a couple of turns to resupply the sixth army.
Another thing - I can cross rivers easily when they are frozen - but attacking and defending still has a penalty when on a frozen river hex, right?
EDIT: Thinking about it - can I trigger the supply flight objective manually over the console? And what are the benefits of that objective apart from the resources for the Kriegsmarine faction / sixth army in the Stalingrad cauldron?

Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
So if I have 106 CP for Kursk, am I, or am I not getting the bonus CP for Caucuses and Winterstorm?
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
Seems you got the same as I (base 95, +4 specs, +3 Maykop oil, +4 quick win at Kharkov = 106 CP) and nothing for saving the 6th Army. Was there a new armoured core unit west of the aux PzKw III N and NW from the SU-122 (in the forest, three hexes away)?hrafnkolbrandr wrote:So if I have 106 CP for Kursk, am I, or am I not getting the bonus CP for Caucuses and Winterstorm?

Nope, none of that.
Re: No reward for saving the 6th Army
I thought as much.
I wonder if anyone has actually gotten the reward. It seems the objective in Winterstorm is bugged.
