I've been reading your corporate link on the website and I'm just wondering how you've manage to collect a team together to do the games you've do and doing I guessing that the lordz have been formed though there mods for Total war series
got game ideas for a strategy game in my head and on paper and I would love to make it but I know it's to big for me to try and do on my own so I know I'll need help to do it with but then there's the cost side so it'll have to be a group of people that want to do it then there how to gather a team together so
is there any advice on how to try and get a team together to do it with?
thanks for any advice
how did you build your teams up?

The Slitherine Team all worked together in previous jobs. Most of the team met at Intelligent Games working on games like Dune 2000, Red Alert mission disks, Dune Emperor etc. Since then we've added new people but always people we've worked with.
The best way to get started is to get a job with a games company. If not you can try and do some indie stuff but you'll probably need to learn to program.

Modding a popular game can get you off the ground but it requires a vast amount of time and some luck to meet the right people.
If you are serious about doing your own game or mod you'll need experience with 3D modelling and/or programming - or a lot of money
. I saw tons of total war mods being announced by people with "great ideas" who expected others to do the actual work for them. You can imagine what happened to these projects.

cool thanks I've read that you work on the games, Dune 2000 was the first game I was addicted to thanks
I'm doing software development at college and I'm just looking into what I could do in future for job options but if I was to do gaming something I would love to do I think it would have to be something that I could develop and plan myself or have a big influence on
edit:
yeah I'm part one of the ones of thoughts mods at the minute which is stuck as it has little direction as the leader trying to do to much at the minute I think (Punic total war) and isn't giving the rest of us any work to be getting on with
you need a massive team to do a good graphics game and will never be a big seller if the game plays no good so I would always put programing way before graphics
