Zama

I have played the Romans twice at the highest difficulty level and both times got my butt kicked by the Carthaginians. The casualties were about the same but I noticed that the Carthaginian force is twice the size of the Romans. Just curious as to whether anybody has been able to win as the Romans since historically they were the victors. Thanks.

That sounds so good, so the highest AI level is a real challenge. Did you try to win it at a lower level ? If so did that bring a Roman victory ?

The game is designed so that even a veteran wargamer can't just walk into the game and win scenarios on the highest level. The highest level is intended to be close to impossible except for highly skilled players who are very familiar with the game.

The difficulty levels are mostly done by altering the balance of the starting forces. The highest (6th) level has the same balance of forces as the 5th level, but alters the quality of the troops slightly. If you don't want to be so outnumbered, play at a lower difficulty level (4 or below).

It would be great if in Multiplayer you could offer those difficult levels too. Adding to the replayability or handicapping a more experienced player versus a rookie. Kind of the what if scenarios offer in boardgames.

Going to have another go but this time at level 4 difficulty. Once I finish my multiplayer game of Bagradas, we might try this one but it looks like the Romans would have a tough time of it but my friend loves the Romans so he will probably take them.
