5.2.3. Intro
Outstanding and spectacular intro movie.
A good decision for a change, because OoB covers campaigns all over the globe now, not only Pacific theatre of war.

Re: 5.2.3. Intro
Voronezh - new commander.
Generaloberst Hans-Valentin Hube.
One of the best commanders of armored troops on the Eastern Front.
He commanded 16th Panzer Division, 14th Panzer Corps and finally 1st Panzer Army.
It seems to me his statistics are too defensive and suitable for infantry commander.

By contrast, I put him in a tank and it's now an invincible beast of a thing!

Re: 5.2.3. Intro
Kondi, thanks for the "heads up" on that. For so long, I've either been keying past the "warship at night-time, silhouetted by the flash of gunfire" (or had the intro video turned off altogether) that I doubt I would have noticed.
It's the same video as the one on Slitherine's OOB game page. Yes, very professional. Runs a bit choppy on my laptop (with OOB itself running at the same time) but that's just the age of my equipment.
I love the portraits on the wall of the study at the beginning and end of the video. "Hey, those guys look familiar. I know those guys!"

Re: 5.2.3. Intro
Well, if that is the case, they ought to work on it and smooth it some. It's too impressive to be annoying and, if your "meaty" equipment is showing it choppy, then it could be some incompatibility. Perhaps the version on the web site is not suitable for this type of application, if all they did was plop it into the game. Unfortunately, I don't have the expertise to know if I know what I am talking about. I encounter that a lot.steevodeevo wrote:Ive got a pretty meaty desktop running Win 10 with 16 gig of Ram and its pretty choppy on mine.

Re: 5.2.3. Intro
I would like to follow this up with what i call another commander discrepancy = Hermann Balck, all he gets is +2 attack vs inf, this is a grave injustice to one of Germany's FINEST Panzer commanders - in the same sphere as Gudarian and Rommel. Yes he was Inf in ww1, however in ww2 he was in 1st Panzer Div in France and went on to be a brilliant Panzer commander on East Front, winning knights cross with oakleaves, swords, diamonds for his heroics with 11th Panzer Div, later to command the infamous 48th Panzer Korps....kondi754 wrote:Voronezh - new commander.

the commander cards are a great feature and could easily be developed much further. people seems to really love them.Cptn_Miller wrote:I would like to follow this up with what i call another commander discrepancy = Hermann Balck, all he gets is +2 attack vs inf, this is a grave injustice to one of Germany's FINEST Panzer commanders - in the same sphere as Gudarian and Rommel. @kondi and the Rest:
Yes, I put those commanders except Hoelter (the one you get in Rhzev) in infantry units.
Seemed logical to me, they are most numerous and lead most attacks in my force. Okay, Guderian is in my PzIV F2. That shock effect is just too useful and the effect area sooo huuuuge.
Sure, tanks are important, too. But they fight other tanks and do sweeping advances on flanks to clear out supporting units like arty and flak. At least for now.
How do you guys deploy your commanders? Might do a little post in that review thread...seems an important topic to ponder in the community.
What air commander do you get in Sevastopol now? Was supposed to be patched, right?
And since I fulfilled that objective and really dont want to revisit that mission again, is there a cheat to give me that commander now? Please let it be Rudel.

Most of my commanders (except Guderian, Bolter) deploy on infantry units. Two of them on heavy infantry (I call it "grenadiers") - one of them is Balck.Andy2012 wrote:@kondi and the Rest:

I thought about assigning Guderian to the artillery unit.

Barkhorn - Fw 190A, the second air hero (don't remember his name) - Ju 87D
Sevastopol was ended before new patch, so I don't know who is the new commander.

Re: 5.2.3. Intro
Sorry, no Rudel. You get Franz Wegmann (+1 ATT against inf and mech, +2 DEF against air, so a bomber pilot). I'd also like to know if there's a cheat or sthg to get him, because I am already several scenarios past Sevastopol.Andy2012 wrote: What air commander do you get in Sevastopol now? THIS IS PANZERKRIEG !!! wth are u guys doing ?!?! All my commanders are in tanks !!! this was the pinacle of the German panzer korps as the plains of russia offered great advantages to mobile warfare, albeit my force is not large as tanks are very costly to deploy they are well worth it imo, hence my argument for better stats on Hube / Balck - fine panzer commanders deserve better stats.Andy2012 wrote:@kondi and the Rest:

Force is normally mostly tanks, eng or 2, air recon, arty or 2, ground recon or 2, thats bout it...makes it challenging.

Hermann Balck commanded motorized infantry regiment subordinate to one of panzer divisions, which made famous breakthrough at Sedan in 1940, from what I remember.Cptn Miller wrote:

So he wasn't 100 percent panzer commander initially.
