2 battles should be fought based on positioning in the chart ( ie everyone is issuing a challenge to the player directly below them
Thus I have completed my battle with ironclad, but need to have Kilroy issue me a challenge as he is above me

Then: the winner of each of those battles then fights that particular player using Rome So I currently am waiting for Ironclad to set up a challenge with him as Rome and me as Pergamene, he choses the terrain.

So you will play between 2-4 battles each round.

Is this right?

what happens next round and when do the "B" armies come into play?
so the rules hopefully spell this out...but the idea is you are the pergamene king, and you have a minor ally (army B)...you are vying for control of the med, but you have other rulers trying to expand as well. and all the while rome is growing in power, and on a course to fight all challengers.

so each engagement you face off against another Player...win or lose, you will fight this PLAYER again, if you won, your winning army will fight the same PLAYER who will defend as Rome. so with two engagements going on you will face each player twice, so you should be working to complete 4 battles in total against the 2 players.

Since the Pergamene army won, they advance on to face the romans led by Ironclad.

So IF YOU ALSO BEAT THE ROMANS, you will fight a new player in the next round using your army B for the first (and second if you win) battle. Ironclad, who represents the romans in this battle, will have the choice to use either army A or B when he meets the next Player in the new round..
does that make sense to everyone?

After an epic struggle (and believe me it really was epic) Carthage finally defeated the Ptolemaic invaders. Thanks Ironclad for a hard-fought game.

If I understand correctly, Ironclad now sets up a challenge: Romans vs Carthaginians?

yup...
see post above for clarification if you need it. you scored one point, and now in your next 1200 vs 1200 battle if you win you get 2 additional pts. iff the romans win, they will get one pt.

so the greeks defeated the Macedons in dramatic fashion by rolling a flank, and now march on to face Emperor Ian in Rome.

Ian, go ahead and set up the romans with PW klay, using your terrain choice.

the greeks face the romans who sandalstomp into an envelopment...it was too painful to watch all the togas turn red so the romans handed over Manulous's head on a stick and the greeks settled the land. Snuggles... i understand, this game is very unforgiving ...once your forces are committed its often impossible to take it back.

seek the link above for the latest scoring. and feel free to update if you see something amiss. we await a few more games before we go on to the next round.

ONE QUESTION...TGM AND KILROY...DID YOU EVER START YOUR MATCH? WE CHATTED ON THAT AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE WORKING THAT OUT. klay

I have no idea what "working out" means. He hasn't returned a turn since we asked for a rules clarification... Your last post on the matter indicated it didn't matter, we would just "be ahead"

Ian , lets just play the game for fun and figure out what happens next when it happens, next.
