Aye, it did. Plus 3x6 MF heavy weapons, 1 Mob and lots of LF/LHdave_r wrote:Just out of interest, did Grahams Thracian have 6 BG's of 4x MF, Arm, Ave, Dr, Lt Sp, Swd. Roman doo-dahs?
I lost to it but took 11 attrition off it with my Early Achaemenids. Had I remembered the charge direction rules correctly (my fault) I would have taken that up to 15 and only lost 8 myself. My deployment was far from good as well.
It's a strong army but, for all it's 19 battle groups it's not too good at frontal combat. A mix of good medium foot and armoured hoplites gave it a tough time. I suspect the key to playing against it is deploying well, turning the table and facing it in a big tough line.
I'd hope to do a bit better against it next time. Oh, and i beat the other Thracian (which only had 16 armoured foot)
I am interested, I didnt go, but would like to see some lists and AAR from the top players..............
I'm guessing swarm armies, of any type, were hard to beat in 3.5hrs and if the swarm is comfortable in terrain then factor that difficulty up a few notches............
What was in the army that won the Legions period? note how the players name is not included, as I in no way intend to provoke a discussion on how good a player anyone is or isnt...........
