Surrendering in Multiplayer

A number of games ago I received a message that the enemy surrendered.

I have not been able to find the button or other way of doing that. I have always carried my games to the end, but sometimes as discussed in another thread you accept a challenge to find it is one of those "what price victory games" where the play balance is so lopsided the enemy so far superior (and I don't mean strategy wise) that it would be nice to just get out. I hate to just not reply for more than 7 days and declare it over with that button.

So is there a way to just surrender/withdraw and if so how is that done?

There is a button on the top right hand side of the briefing panel.
