Force Selection Screen Wont Disapear

Hello, just downloaded the latest update, and went to start a custom battle. Selected my force hit 'accept' and presto the force selection screen is still there! Renders the game unplayable as I cant see a good portion of the map. Can I roll back this update or something?

if you roll back the update, you wont be able to play online, seems something else maybe wrong etc, site or steam version and patch number on screen please,

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

retest and see if that stops the conflict

Thanks for the advice, but Cortana will not allow me to do this, says it cannot do this at the present time and must wait for a future update?! I rarely go and play online, so could you please tell me how to roll back this update so I can play the game.

what version are you using, site or steam

if steam you can't, unless you uninstall the game and manually block the update on a reinstall

on the site version, as the site version embed's the install into the game, the update also can't be manually or auto uninstalled, so it's a game uninstall time, make sure the folder is removed once the uninstaller has closed, then reinstall the game, and don't manually patch the game to the latest version, also not recommend, as the update fixes issue in the game, but if it also stop you from playing, that's all i can do and recommend.

for me your base memory on the onboard Graphics chip isn't helping the update.

please try these suggestion and see if it helps first before uninstalling,...

Have you tried uninstalling the game and re-installing? Are you using any mods?

Not using any mods. Using site version not steam. Press custom battle. Pick an army to play, lets say Bosphoran, pick opposing army, lets say Pontic. Select small size army,pick lets say Mediterranean agricultural map, adjust turn length usually to 20 turns. Press proceed to create army. When force selection screen comes up, i pick my army forces, then press accept, at this point the forces i selected are highlighted on the map, but the force selection screen remains whether i deploy myself or auto deploy or whether i auto fill or not. Thats about it.

Assuming that the game has not actually frozen, please could you save the game at that point and post the save here. You will find it in /Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2/SAVES. It will be called something like 12.lsf and be the most recent such file if you have just saved it.

If it does freeze the game when you press accept, then please save the game just before clicking Accept.

As an aside, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game without updating the latest patch that caused this issue, and it works just fine now. So I will not update the latest patch, but I have a question. If I purchase the latest DLC, will it cause the same issue, and if it does can I get a refund on that purchase?

The patch is required to run the DLC - so you will need to install the patch before you can run the DLC.

I will send you a PM (see top left corner of screen) with my email address so you can send me the .LSF file.

Something funny must be going on since you are the only one who has reported this issue. Of course that does not necessarily mean that is isn't a bug, that only affects certain systems - it wouldn't be the first time that we found a bug that did that. If you send me the save and it does the same on my system, Pip will probably be able to track down the issue. If it doesn't do the same on my system, he may still be able to track it down.

Just to let folks know, this issue was resolved successfully. I uninstalled and re-installed the game, and upon Richards prompting re-downloaded the latest update. Presto, it worked! I'm thinking that I may have had a faulty/corrupted initial download. Richard and team were very responsive to my problem and I am greatly appreciative. Great game guys, keep up the good work!
