Playing Kriegsmaraine and wondering what the detection range is for subs (surfaced)?

Ships have to be adjacent to the sub or it can be detected via "sonar" from destroyers or some light cruisers (2 hex radius).

I'm still wondering what happened to the the promised "adjacent ships AND planes" detection method for surfaced subs in the tutorial mesages, though...

Oh, and speaking of which, has someone noticed this:

If a submerged enemy submarine doesn't move (during a turn) it cannot be detected by sonar. The only method then is to move a ship directly to the subs exact position. And only after that it can be detected by sonar pings from other nearby ships. I don't know if this is intended or not (but movement should make no difference if it's sonar detection, in my opinion)

This was observed during the 4.1.x version of the game I think, didn't try this out with the 5.2.x versions.
