In round three of the "Beyond the Fringe" tournament most of the timed out games ends with one player getting 75p but not all.
In 2-3 cases the final score is simply the standings when the game ended.
A glitch, or has it something to do with this from the rules? :
" If neither player has claimed victory before the time runs out, we adjust the scores based on how much time each player took to play their turns."
Scoring, timed out games?

The timed out penalties and bonus score only apply if the required number of turns have not been played for a full score. This number is set in the tournament setup, and in this case was set to 24 - this is the sum of both players' played turns.hidde wrote:In round three of the "Beyond the Fringe" tournament most of the timed out games ends with one player getting 75p but not all.

So it is working correctly, but it might perhaps be better to set the number as 48, which will then match the the maximum number of turns.

Re: Scoring, timed out games?
So, at the moment, if two players play a game with a lot of pre-contact manoeuvring and manage to play 14 turns each before the time runs out then they will just score the points they have achieved in the game. The player who has spent less time over his/her moves will not get awarded the 75pts because the match has exceeded 24 turns. But the player would have got the 75pts if they had only played 11 turns each? Have I understood this correctly? If so, that player is actually worse off for having played more moves at the moment.rbodleyscott wrote:The timed out penalties and bonus score only apply if the required number of turns have not been played for a full score. Also, in the first round of the last tournament two matches between the same players both ended up being scored 60-0. Neither match is shown as being "timed-out". How would that happen?

yes. As I say, that is easily solved by setting the parameter to 48 instead of 24 in the tournament set up on the tournament server.stockwellpete wrote:So, at the moment, if two players play a game with a lot of pre-contact manoeuvring and manage to play 14 turns each before the time runs out then they will just score the points they have achieved in the game. If a player conceded. I need to tweak the points for this in the game, as it does not use the BYE score from the server. I think you feel 85 would be a correct score for the winner of a conceded match? Also, in the first round of the last tournament two matches between the same players both ended up being scored 60-0. Yes, that's right. Most of the time players concede because they are getting well beaten. If they were to continue the game it is possible that the winning player might score 90+, or occasionally even 100+ pts. So I think 85pts is definitely reasonable as it represents 60pts for the win plus 25pts, which is the minimum winning margin (unless a game continues until one player reaches 60% losses).rbodleyscott wrote:If a player conceded. Re: Scoring, timed out games?
Just to clarify, would you like 85 to be the default minimum score for all of the following?:
1) Conceded games.
2) BYES
3) Timed out games. (Right up to the full game turn limit).
Note that 2) and 3) can be achieved by tweaking the tournament setup on the tournament server, but 1) will need to wait for the next game patch. (It is already far too late to include it the Immortal Fire release patch)

Yes, I would make it 85pts for all three categories, Richard.rbodleyscott wrote:Just to clarify, would you like 85 to be the default minimum score for all of the following?:
