Game not ending when victory conditions reached
Maybe this isn't a technical issue and perhaps it's meant to be this way, but I've noticed that games don't necessarily end when victory conditions are reached. For example, I just finished a turn at 63% vs 43%. Instead of the game ending, the turn has gone back to the other player.

site or steam game, mission or campaign, single player or custom or online etc?
developer would need more details and or a save etc

A multiplayer custom battle with Slitherine-bought game. I was Side A, so maybe the game doesn't declare a victory until both Side A and B have completed their turns.

Re: Game not ending when victory conditions reached
The game only declares victory after all unresolved compulsory melees etc. have been resolved at the start of a player's turn.
Otherwise you could win a game by 25% difference in rout % by not fighting your worst melees that would tip the % difference back below 25%.
However, in tournament the game does award the points as per the end of a players turn, in case the other player never plays his turn. But if he does play his turn, and some of his troops rally etc., or some of the "winning" players troops rout from compulsory melees, the "winning" players points could go down again and the game might not be won.
The short answer is: This is WAD (Working as Designed).

I don't think there were any melees that I had left unresolved. Maybe there are other melees that the computer is taking care of and that the human player cannot resolve.

Re: Game not ending when victory conditions reached
It doesn't matter whether there actually are any or not, the victory conditions are adjudicated at the start of each player's turn because there potentially could be unresolved melees to adjudicate. The victory conditions are not adjudicated in real time, only when the victory conditions code is called, which is at the start of each player's turn after the de facto "residual melee" phase..the_iron_duke wrote:I don't think there were any melees that I had left unresolved.
