Myself and hidde have spent some time updating the FOGDL archive because we lost a lot of stuff when Photobucket changed their policy about third party hosting. Just left click on the tables that have a scrollbar down the side to reveal the whole table. It is interesting to look back at some of the old names that took part back then. Where are they now?

Just to give a little taster of what we have got planned for Season 1 (starting February 1st 2018).

There will be four league sections, organised into divisions of 10, and a themed event section, organised initially into 4 groups of 4 players each, followed by a knock-out phase of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. In the four league sections players will each play nine league matches over the 10 week duration of the tournament. There will be promotion and relegation between each season (Season 2 will start June 1st 2018). Section 1 will be based on armies from "Rise of Rome"; section 2 will be based on armies from "Immortal Fire"; section 3 will be called "Enemies of Rome"; and section 4 will be based on some of the more obscure armies included in the game to date. In these league sections players will arrange matches at their own pace although there will be rules to make sure that matches are completed in a reasonable period of time. It is expected that all players will complete all their fixtures.

The themed event section is quite different. Players will have their group matches scheduled, with about 10 days being allowed for each match. The top 2 players from each group will qualify for the knock-out stage which will be decided by paired games. The themes included in this event are "Diadochi", "Peloponnesian Wars", "The Struggle for Italy" and "Second Invasion of Greece". We hope to run at least two pools in this section and we might be persuaded to run a third if there is enough interest.

Once I have been given some dedicated forum space for the FOG2DL, I will start posting up more information, including the rules of competition and details about how to enter.
