Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Another question for the wise guys here... Anyone knows if an AA class unit with just passive AirDef value will provide cover fire for an adjacent friendly unit if attacked by enemy aircraft?
Thanks, again!

Back to the icon side of things about this thread...
An old friend turned small. A smaller version of the already known icon for a turreted fort, maybe useful for someone...

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
An experimental Pz 38(t) switchable unit... As in the original game this tank was given certain recon attributes and function (Spotting = 3) I decided to try to make a test of this unit made switchable, so:
Combat tank: Spotting = 2, as any other tank. The other stats without any change...
Reconnaisance Switch: Spotting = 3, Movement = 6 (+1), All atack stats made passive (negative values, can only fire in auto-defense when attacked), reconmove trait, ground defense +1 (supposing that without the need to make combat, the driver can carefully take advantage of the terrain features to keep its vehicle out of enemy weapon sights). Not sure about giving also the camo trait, because being a tank, it has a rather large size and sound signature, so I think the camo trait should be reserved for stealthier vehicles, like motorbikes, armored cars, special recon troops on feet, etc...
And, as I don't like to use special markers for icons in the combat map (like the stylized binoculars that are used in other mods for recon units), I made a special icon for this tank with the commander standing out from his cupola with a pair of (guess what...) binoculars as searching for enemy units. There is nothing bad about the binocular marker used by other modders, but for my taste, when you have several units which use such markers close together in a game map, it looks very cluttered in my opinion. Also, in my very humble opinion, the icon looks good enough.
Also, I made a big unit portrait for this icon, and a matching regular Pz(38)t tank. Besides, this new unit can be useful for Yrfin, who seems to be making some work on modding recon units, from what I could read in this forum.
Enjoy and happy "reconning"!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Hello Intenso...
The problem with torpedo carrying aircraft is that because of the icon perspective, te torpedo is barely visible. The truth is that the torpedo (or the visible par of it) can be over-sized, but we should be careful with the exaggeration because it would look ugly. And all this is even more a fact in the case of the He-111, because its ample wings will totally cover the torpedo(es).
In my case, I prefer to use different camouflaged icons for torpedo aircraft, using a sea camouflage scheme. Anyway, as I have a base icon and mask for the Ju-88, it is not difficult to make a torpedo carrying Ju-88

I have very much enjoyed this post and have used several of your icons in my own expanded equipment roster. I am posting to ask if any one has made a SdKfz 234/3 "Stummel". I am unable to add image from my IPhone. Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes, sea camouflage, it's a good idea to mark a naval version of the bombers.guille1434 wrote:In my case, I prefer to use different camouflaged icons for torpedo aircraft, using a sea camouflage scheme. But in my mod, I use the Bebro icons. They differ in perspective from the original. I already forgot which icons are used in the original.
So I wanted everything to be in one style.
And there are still icons of naval German aircraft except than Ar196 and BV138?
Maybe Do-18 or Do-24?
Excellent.guille1434 wrote:Katyusha rocket launcher on rails!!
Just match to my concept of a small number of unique units.)
But it's probably better to reduce the unit's scale so that it's the same size as the twin 37 mm version.
And in green camouflage.
And for the ground mode will you do the animation too? Although I think we can use animation from Katyusha.

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
If I am not mistaken, the "Stummel" was actually a SdKfz 251 with a 75 mm gun (creating the SdKfz 251/9). Though Buffalohump did ask for the 234/3, I thought I would share an icon of a "Stummel". I couldn't find an icon of that unit I liked so, a few months ago, I made one using the stock unit & a gun from one of Flak's units. Guille: I hope it's ok with you if I post it here? Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
You are correct that the SdKfz 251/9 was also informally named “Stummel” as well as a couple of other vehicles including the SdKfz 234/3. Please see this link (http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/n ... 4_Puma.php). It appears the name revolved around the support 75mm gun. I also would like to add the SdKfz 251/9 “Stummel” to my roster as well.cw58 wrote:If I am not mistaken, the "Stummel" was actually a SdKfz 251 with a 75 mm gun (creating the SdKfz 251/9).
